On November 14, Professor Wang Peng (Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Faculty of Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University) and Professor Chen Shaoqing from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering led a research team consisting of teachers and students to attend the conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. They successfully held a themed side event at the China Pavilion entitled "Telling China's Story of Addressing Climate Change and Creating New Advantages in Responding to Climate Change with New Productive Forces" and released the latest research results.

Professor Wang Peng from our school deeply analyzed the role of the "dual-carbon" goals in promoting the comprehensive green transformation of society from an academic perspective. He introduced the increments of new productive forces and carbon reduction practices in industries such as photovoltaics, new energy vehicles, and water resources in China as a whole and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. He put forward suggestions in aspects such as policy guidance, enterprise transformation, public participation, and technological innovation, emphasizing that the "dual-carbon" goals are not only a solemn commitment to the international community but also a strategic choice to promote the comprehensive and coordinated development of China's economy, society, and environment.
